Israel and Panama negotiated an FTA

Israel and Panama began yesterday the third round of negotiations aimed at forging a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), according to diplomatic sources in the Central American country, it may be concluded later this year.

Negotiations take place from today until Thursday at a hotel in Jerusalem, under the direction of the Deputy Minister of Trade Negotiations, Diana Salazar, and senior Israeli official from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Yifat Alon.

‘This project has been three periods of government, which is considered a state initiative, which is to unite Panama and Israel markets for most of the two countries in Panama’ Salazar he said.

The FTA initiative began in 2007 with a proposal by Israeli Panamanian Executive.
